Google Multilingual Search Tool

This fantastic yet well hidden search tool from Google allows you to perform a search for a word in your language for results in another language.  What Google actually does is:

  1. Translates your search term into the language of your choice
  2. Performs a Google search for sites that are in that language
  3. Collates the results and translates them back into English

This tool only shows natural search results, not PPC. For a full in-country market analysis, please contact us.

Be careful! Machine translation like this by Google is not 100% accurate, as you will see from the translations of the returned results.  This is a great research tool but no substitute for proper localization and multilingual search marketing.

This Alexa resource shows the top sites by country.  This is very useful for determining the current top search engines (by visitors) in each country.
