Yorkshire Day is traditionally celebrated every year on the 1st August to mark the day in history that true Yorkshire-man and MP William Wilberforce realised his dream of the emancipation of slaves. He finally won this campaign in 1834. Yorkshire day also denotes the Battle of Minden as this was fought and won on this day in 1759.
Today, Yorkshire Day has transformed itself and is now seen as the day to celebrate all things ‘Yorkshire’. We in Yorkshire have long been perceived as a friendly and kind county, and I feel we uphold this reputation with aplomb.
Search Laboratory was founded in Yorkshire and will continue to offer expert search engine marketing consultancy from its Leeds HQ while also opening new offices in London.
We are actively promoting employment opportunities for creative and talented people who want to remain in Yorkshire. We want to help keep Yorkshire a vibrant, skilled and bountiful county by encouraging more marketing talent to stay here in the North of England. Notable retail brands have started migrating to the North, ASOS.com, the major fashion retailer recently opened a distribution centre in Barnsley for example. We hope more of the same will follow suit!
We are doing our very best to help the country climb out of the recession by continuing to grow, expand and create even more new opportunities for employment locally. Demand for our services is increasing as more businesses realise the value of Paid and Organic Search; as such we have taken on twenty new members of staff in Leeds since January.
Staff undergo thorough training, and whether they are full or part time employees they will gain a huge number of key skills while working at the Lab. There has been 0% staff attrition (rare in an agency environment) in this time so the increase is pure growth and represents 100% growth for the company when compared to 2010.
And the recruitment doesn’t stop there….
We are always looking for new talent to join our friendly Yorkshire team and we have a number of exciting vacancies open at present:
SEO Account Manager
Graduate PPC Executive
Graduate SEO Executive
Graduate Business Development Executive
Developer – VB.Net, SQL Server
If interested in any of these roles, please apply via our website.
