Ghost Pepper Challenge Goes Terribly Wrong...
If you haven't already seen this failed attempt at the famed Ghost Pepper Challenge - then where have you been? This US boy's reaction to the challenge has gone viral due to his hilarious reaction. (We must point out that we would not advise you try to eat a Ghost Pepper at home). The chilli which registers 1 million on the Scoville scale is about 150 times hotter than Tabasco sauce.
How to fool the world that chocolate is good for you
You may remember the headlines - "chocolate accelerates weight loss"? Well, guess what? This isn't the case unfortunately. Journalist and scientist, John Bohannon, fooled us all when he setup a supposed research experiment to show the world how easy it is to manipulate statistics to show whatever you want it to. When his "research" did actually show that the group of volunteers who cut carbs and ate a chocolate bar a day lost weight quicker than others this was the hook they needed to publish a paper and get into the global press. Sheryl Sandberg's Heartfelt Public Letter
If there is ever something that can remind you that money can't buy you everything, the tragic story of Survey Monkey CEO, David Goldberg's, tragic death is just that. His wife, COO of Facebook, Sheryl Sandberg, wrote an open letter on Facebook this week outpouring her grief over the situation which went viral only hours after posting. In the letter she remarks about motherhood without her beloved husband: “I have gained a more profound understanding of what it is to be a mother, both through the depth of the agony I feel when my children scream and cry and from the connection my mother has to my pain”.
