Tomlinson RoversLOUIS.KIT.NEW

This week Doncaster Rovers revealed next season’s team shirts for both home and away games. Sounds fairly standard so far. But the shirts were designed as part of a competition opened up to fans. The winning designs are to be used next season and the lucky designers also get a trip to Thailand to see the shirts being made. However, there was a widespread uproar when it was revealed that the designer of the away shirt was no other than loyal Donny Rovers fan Louis Tomlinson from One Direction. Labelled by many as a publicity stunt, the Twittersphere had rather a lot to say about it. However, the demographic of their shirt sales will certainly be widened this year with plenty of 1D fans wanting one.

Whatsapp Messages Encrypted

This week Facebook-owned messenger app, Whatsapp, announced that they have now enabled encryption for all messages including group chats and voice messages. Users of the service were reminded about the new policy with an in-chat pop-up message on Tuesday.

Whatsapp said: “The idea is simple: when you send a message, the only person who can read it is the person or group chat that you send that message to. No one can see inside that message. Not cybercriminals. Not hackers. Not oppressive regimes. Not even us.”

If Your Body Was a Band

This week Bupa launched a new interactive video promoting its health assessments. The video asks four questions regarding your lifestyle which will relate to how well your heart, lungs, bones and liver function. This will then determine how well The Futureheads sing their 2010 hit “Heartbeat Song”. The completely personal video can then be shared on social media, you can create your own here.

Taylor Gets Photobombed

Most people, including myself, would love the idea of being at Disneyland WITH Taylor Swift. However, not everyone feels quite as excited about the prospect as I do. At the weekend, Taylor took some of her Squad to Disneyland for the day but she was accompanied throughout by a rather burly-looking security guard – even on the rides. This post from Taylor’s Instagram has gone viral because of the dead-pan expression of the said bodyguard who didn’t seem to enjoy the ride as much as the girls.

And Finally…

Cadbury launched a new strapline this week in “Tastes Like This Feels” after an advert that depicts a bear rubbing its back on a tree. To bring the new saying to life, over the weekend the brand installed a huge floor covering made from bubble wrap in Westfield Shopping Centre, London. Shoppers were asked to remove their shoes and feel what Cadbury Dairy Milk tastes like.
