The brief

The focus of this campaign was to raise awareness of the giffgaff money brand, alongside achieving SEO authority for the website. One of the key aims was to secure links from new targets.

We decided the best way to achieve both these aims was to execute an event targeting a new audience for giffgaff money.

The solution

To acquire links from new domains, we planned and executed an event that would target bloggers and London based media publications, where the event would be held.

giffgaff money is a young brand, therefore the theme of the event needed to appeal to their target audience. With that in mind, we decided to run a charity fitness event, where we invited bloggers and giffgaff members to take part in a charity fun run. We used our proprietary tools, media database LinkLab and our own blogger community CoLab to find the perfect target audience for the event. The three winners won money for their chosen charity.

The theme of the event was tailored around giffgaff’s brand messaging, and gamification of their key products.

All content was in line with the giffgaff branding including:

  • About us cards
  • Race numbers
  • Race banners
  • Onsite landing page
  • Invitations.

The results

Overall from the event we secured:

  • 31 live links and 7 pieces of coverage
  • The average domain authority of all the links: 39
  • The event hashtag #giffgaffmoneyfit resulted in an estimated reach of 83,270 and 195,665 impressions.
