Blogger get-together: maintaining relationships

Content Marketing

Here at Search Labs we know how important it is to maintain the relationships that we’vePit built, especially when it is on behalf of our clients. We like to keep up regular communication with the bloggers and experts that we know but every so often it is great to just get out of the office and meet these people face to face. Here’s what happened when we did exactly that for our client, House of Fraser.

We decided to get together with four bloggers that we already have good working relationships with in order to create some content face to face and have some fun. Meeting at The Pit near the Search Labs offices we had some food and drinks to get us in the creative mood!

The day was a great chance for us to put faces to the names we all knew so well and it was a pleasure to meet all of the lovely ladies in person and get to know them better.

Food out of the way we got cracking with a little blogger challenge we’d put together. The girls were asked to create easy festival hairstyles in real time so that we could make a ‘how to’ post to feature on the House of Fraser blog. The ladies were extremely creative and there were some fantastic photos produced for the content.

Finally we rounded off the get-together with a nice beauty themed House of Fraser/Search Labs goody bag, complete with personalised biscuits. It’s the little things in life!

We know through research that bloggers are looking for the whole package (see graph below).

An event alone is not enough, they want to know the people behind the brand, make contacts and get to grips with the products. It means much more to bloggers to give things a personal touch and engage with them.

Based on a survey of 42 beauty/fashion bloggers

We’ve had great feedback from the girls on the get-together and we already have two more events lined up for the coming months. We will definitely be continuing to strengthen our relationships with bloggers like this in the future.
