What are Price Extensions?

Google recently rolled out its price extensions across all AdWords accounts. These new extensions appear only on mobiles and tablets and display price information for different product areas and services, along with a description.

The headers link through to unique URLs, giving searchers more opportunities to click through. As with sitelinks, you won’t be charged for more than two clicks per impression. You may have previously heard of table extensions, an ad extension which was in beta. This extension is no longer available and has been replaced by the price extension.

How to Create a Price Extension

Price extensions can be found in the ad extensions tab in the AdWords interface:

Google Price Extension

When creating a price extension, you can select from several types:

Google Price Extension

Your headers and descriptions must then accurately reflect this type, more information on type requirements can be found here.

Currently, price extensions are available in the following currencies:

  • USD
  • AUD
  • CAD
  • EUR
  • GBP
  • NZD

How can this help me?

Price extensions can be set at an account, campaign or ad group level and can be scheduled to appear only on certain days or at certain times. If you offer a product or service which would be applicable for price extensions, we would definitely recommend setting these up.
