Giving back to the community has long been a central part of our mission. For example, at the beginning of 2023, Search Laboratory was recognized as a B Corporation. This certification recognizes our dedication to the well-being of our team, our positive impact on the environment, and our involvement in community initiatives.
As a certified B Corp, we meet the highest social and environmental performance standards. We commit to consider the impact of our decisions on all stakeholders of our company, not just the shareholders.
As a digital marketing agency in Austin, TX, we love dedicating some of our time and services to the surrounding community.
This year, we partnered with local charity Austin Pets Alive!, a no-kill animal shelter that has pioneered innovative lifesaving programs to save the animals most at risk of euthanasia. Their mission is to promote and provide the resources, education, and programs needed to eliminate the killing of companion animals.
As part of this partnership, we dedicate $10,000 worth of working hours to help APA! with their marketing initiatives. We are working with APA! ‘s marketing team to provide insights, resources, and industry best practices across their digital marketing channels, including social media, SEO, content, and digital PR.
Since we opened our Austin office in 2021, we have always taken a people-first approach. While we care about business success, we never make decisions that prioritize profit over people. We believe in hiring people who embody our values of innovation, respect, transparency, and accountability.
The joy and camaraderie between our team members, as well as their perspective on the company itself, reflects this approach. According to a recent survey of employees, 100% of our team members feel that we live by our values, promoting equity and inclusion throughout the organization. 100% of our employees think management supports and genuinely cares about their development. And 100% of our employees feel we listen to and implement employee feedback.
As such, we have seen steady employee growth since opening our doors, quadrupling our numbers in just a few short years. Furthermore, we saw no team members leave in 2023, a testament to the workplace culture we are building here.
One of the critical distinctions between us and other US agencies is that we offer a startup’s flexibility and growth opportunities with the support of an established international agency behind us. This best-of-both-worlds approach means that our employees receive benefits that few other US agencies offer. These include 23 days of PTO, which employees are encouraged to use, healthcare for both full and part-time employees, and a one-day in-office requirement per week.
We also offer flexible working hours, with core hours between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., a system that enables our employees to work most beneficially.
